The Portville Boys JV Basketball team capped it's season off with a 3 game winning streak by defeating the Wolverines of Bolivar-Richburg Thursday night 38-35. Though the Panthers lead most of the contest, it was a close game the whole way. Portville lead by 4 at half and only 3 at the end of the third quarter. The Panthers were able to keep composure through out most of the fourth quarter but were unable to pull away from the Wolverines. However good defense coupled with a big three point basket from Sean Harris to put the Panthers up 5 with under a minute left the in the contest was the dagger that put the win out of reach for Bolivar. Bolivar answered going coast to coast to score a quick 2. With time on their side the Panthers we able to fend of the Wolverines in the waining seconds of the contest.
Leading scorers for the Panthers were Brett Macellin with 14 points and 7 rebounds, Sean Harris with 11, while Andrew Sarber added 7.
Bolivar-Richburg was lead by number 24 Burdick who scored 15 points.
