Mike Moses

Mike is entering his thirteenth year as a Varsity Assistant. Coach Moses grew up playing against PCS. He graduated from Otto-Eldred Jr. Sr. High School (Class of ‘72), where he lettered in both football and basketball. After high school he graduated from Northeast Broadcasting School in Boston Mass. He and his wife Diane moved into the Portville School District upon their marriage in 1974. Mike was involved in youth sports in Portville and the area for 24 years. He coached in Portville Little League for 13 years, most of that time serving as Vice President of the league. He also served as an Assistant District Administrator for District 2, which includes Allegany and Cattaraugus counties, retiring from that position in 2007. He also coached Portville Youth Football for 4 years and served on their Board of Directors.
Serving in many capacities over the years, Coach Moses has been involved with Portville Boy’s Basketball since the 1990-91 season. His three sons, Jamie (Class of ‘94), Pat (Class of ‘97), and Chris (Class of 2000) are all former captains of the boy’s basketball team. Jamie holds the record for most career wins (62), and Chris was the point guard for the 2000 Class C-2 championship team that boasts the school’s best record (22-2). All three continued their careers in college. Jamie played both baseball and basketball at St. Bonaventure. Pat played the same two sports at Fredonia, and Chris also played basketball at St. Bonaventure.
