Mike is entering the third year of his second stint as a Portville assistant, bringing 20+ years of basketball coaching experience that includes all levels from 5th grade to junior college. He recently completed a very successful run as Olean's boys JV coach/assistant varsity coach; his JV Huskies were perennial league champs and his JV-turned-varsity captured the '08 Class B New York State title. Mike served as Portville's assistant coach under Ron McMahon for three years as the Panthers went 59-9, winning the 2000 Class C-2 Sectional title. As Portville's head coach he guided PCS to a 2-year mark ('03, '04) of 21-19.

Junior guard Zach is Mike's fifth child to leave their mark on the Panther basketball court, following siblings Eric ('99), Brian ('01), Andrew ('03), and Alyssa ('07).

Mike is a graduate of Empire State College with a bachelor's degree in Human Development/Psychology; he is a Social Worker for Cattaraugus Community Action in Salamanca. An avid "Parrothead", Mike lives in Portville with wife Margaret, and son Zach.
